Elora Weill-Engerer est diplômée de l’École du Louvre et des universités de Paris IV et Paris I en art contemporain, histoire de l’art et muséologie. Elle est membre de l’Association internationale des critiques d’art (AICA) et commissaire d’exposition indépendante, membre de C-E-A (conservateurs associés). Elle est également membre actif du pôle mentorat de l’association Contemporaines qui lutte contre les inégalités de genre dans l’art contemporain, en résidence à Artagon à Pantin. Elora Weill-Engerer a été commissaire d’expositions collectives et personnelles au Houloc (Aubervilliers), à la Tour Orion (Montreuil), à la Galerie ETC (Paris) et dans plusieurs associations (collectif SPORTS, association Fertile, collectif Voltaire, etc.) Elle prépare actuellement les prochaines expositions personnelles d’Aïda Bruyère (galerie PACT, Paris, octobre 2023) et de Liên Hoàng-Xuân (Revie projet, Paris, septembre 2023). Elle a obtenu plusieurs prix et bourses, notamment le Prix Dauphine pour l’art contemporain, la Bourse Ekphrasis et le Prix Point de Vue. Après avoir été galeriste pendant trois ans à la galerie ETC, elle développe ses recherches sous la forme d’un dialogue entre les périodes historiques, du XVIIIe siècle à l’époque contemporaine, et collabore à plusieurs journaux, monographies et revues d’art (Manifesto XXI, The Art Newspaper, BoumBang, Mémoires en jeu, Point Contemporain). Elle a également écrit pour le Max Mara Art Prize for Women artists (Londres et Reggio Emilia), le Fonds de dotation Emerige, le Fonds régional d’art contemporain d’Auvergne et le Centre d’art MEYMAC. Elle est journaliste d’art international pour Crash Magazine. Ses recherches portent sur l’art rom contemporain, le minimalisme et les nouveaux objets picturaux. Elle prépare actuellement un doctorat en histoire de l’art sous la direction d’Elvan Zabunyan et Pierre Wat (ED-441, HiCSA, Université Paris 1) :  » Romanités et tsiganités dans les pratiques artistiques contemporaines : la construction d’une identité politique rom 1971-2020 « . Elle est enseignante à Paris I-Sorbonne et à l’Ecole du Louvre.

Art critic, art historian and independent curator

Elora Weill-Engerer is graduate of the École du Louvre and the Universities of Paris IV and Paris I in contemporary art, history of art and museology. She is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and an independent curator, member of C-E-A (associated curators). She is also an active member of the mentoring pole of the association Contemporaines which works against gender inequalities in contemporary art, in residence at Artagon in Pantin. Elora Weill-Engerer has curated group and solo exhibitions at Le Houloc (Aubervilliers), Tour Orion (Montreuil), Galerie ETC (Paris) and several associations (SPORTS collective, Fertile association, Voltaire collective, etc.). She is currently preparing the next solo shows by Aïda Bruyère (PACT gallery, Paris, octobre 2023) and Liên Hoàng-Xuân (Revie projet, Paris, septembre 2023). She has won several awards and grants, including the Prix Dauphine pour l’art contemporain, the Bourse Ekphrasis and the Prix Point de Vue. After three years as a gallery manager at ETC gallery, she develops her research in the form of a dialogue between historical periods, from the 18th century to the contemporary, and contributes to several newspapers, monographs and art magazines (Manifesto XXI, The Art Newspaper, BoumBang, Mémoires en jeu, Point Contemporain). She has also written for the Max Mara Art Prize for Women artists (London and Reggio Emilia), the Emerige Endowment Fund, the Regional Fund for Contemporary Art in Auvergne and the Centre d’art MEYMAC. She is an international art journalist for Crash Magazine. Her research interests include contemporary Roma art, minimalisms and new pictorial objects. She is currently preparing a PhD in art history under the direction of Elvan Zabunyan and Pierre Wat (ED-441, HiCSA, Université Paris 1) : ‘Romanities and Gypsiness in contemporary artistic practices: the construction of a Roma political identity 1971-2020’. She is a teacher at Paris I-Sorbonne and the Ecole du Louvre.
